...this is going to be interesting as i am going to show you what i have been up to today... and attempt to show pictures step by step...not the best pics (kirsty has promised me that her camera will be better...) so be patient until I'm am modernised..this is a project for next Saturday's Children's class
| this spatula was part of a spoon set i bought at Ikea(what is it for?) |
| i marked where the face and collar would be |
| then i painted face/flesh..dress/blue mist..collar/buttermilk(not a good pic) |
| using 2 colours of wool (could use more colours) |
| about 6" long, 16-18 strands |
| pushed strands through hole |
| tied in a knot and then trimmed to about 2" |
| ...continued adding wool till i had used all the holes, also went back into holes to tie more at the top and middle of the kitchen ?? |
| added face using blusher for cheeks, fine pen for mouth(adding heart for mouth) and dotting white for the eyes and a black dot for the pupils |
| then i painted cream dots using a stylus(another terrible pic) |
| ..a scrap of fabric for a hair bow..teeny tiny button for her dress |
and voila!!! my odd kitchen utensil is transformed into
"Katie the Kitchen Queen"
...phew...trying to get all these pictures loaded is interesting.. today was also a catch up day for orders , i managed to get this baby plate finished for a new baby boy...quite a few births this month

Well isn't she just fantastic - I couldn't work out what you had in mind for that odd spatula (I've never seen one like that before) and she's so fab - I totally need a spatula queen for my kitchen too!
Isn't photographing as you go along hilarious (and now you might relate to the fact that I often have over 500 photos on my phone cos I take about 10 shots of every scene so I can try to pick out at least one decent one!
Thanks for the how to Sandra - it's ace and now I must get a holey spatula!
Aww that plate is absolutely gorgeous Sandra, my aunt and her husband were chuffed to pieces!
